Responsibilities

Design, develop, and refine new Android storefront features.
Locate and resolve application bugs and crashes.
Brainstorm new ideas and concepts for the Android experience.
Collaborate with teammates on design, code reviews, and estimation.
Build responsive Android interfaces using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and core Android architecture components.
Address Android platform fragmentation, differing screen sizes, and multiple operating system versions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related stated field, plus at least three years of software or technology experience.
Candidates without the specified bachelor’s degree or advanced diploma must have at least six years of software development experience.
At least three years of professional mobile development experience, including at least two years of native Android development.
Strong computer science and programming fundamentals and a full understanding of Android application and activity lifecycles.
Proficiency with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android architecture components.
Knowledge of Android-specific asynchronous processing techniques and Android user experience design patterns.
Desirable qualifications include Android Java, native iOS development, RESTful API network requests, unit testing, Robot Framework UI automation, eCommerce app development, GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.
Candidates must reside in South Africa.
